NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner in Melbourne's Western Suburbs

Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner services for NDIS participants in Footscray, Werribee, Sunshine and surrounding western suburbs. Registered NDIS provider — Provider Number 4050149990.

What Is an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner?

A Behaviour Support Practitioner helps NDIS participants whose behaviours of concern are affecting their quality of life, safety, or participation in the community. These behaviours might include self-injury, aggression, property damage, or other responses that place the participant or others at risk.

Under the NDIS, participants must use a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner to develop a formal Behaviour Support Plan — particularly where restrictive practices are involved. All practitioners at 360 Support Coordination are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner is the highest registration level under the NDIS Commission. Advanced practitioners are assessed as capable of managing the most complex behaviour support cases — including those involving significant restrictive practices, high-risk presentations, or participants with multiple and intersecting support needs.

Advanced Behaviour Support Services in the Western Suburbs

360 Support Coordination's BSP service in Melbourne's western suburbs is led by David W, an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner and Head of Service Delivery — BSP. Our western suburbs BSP service is culturally responsive and accessible — the region has a high concentration of NDIS participants from CALD backgrounds, and our approach reflects this diversity.

Behaviour Support services are available as a standalone referral — participants do not need to be existing 360 SC support coordination clients to access our BSP team. Allied health professionals, LACs, support coordinators, and families can refer directly.

  • Functional Behaviour AssessmentA thorough assessment of the participant's behaviours of concern, their context, triggers, and underlying causes.
  • Behaviour Support Plan DevelopmentA formal, evidence-based plan with proactive strategies tailored to the participant's needs and environment.
  • Restrictive Practice Documentation and OversightPreparation and ongoing review of regulated restrictive practice authorisation documents where required.
  • Carer and Support Worker TrainingPractical training so those around the participant can implement strategies consistently across all settings.
  • Interim Behaviour Support PlansRapid interim plans for urgent or high-risk situations while a full assessment is underway.
  • Regular Plan ReviewOngoing monitoring and review to ensure strategies remain effective as the participant's needs evolve.

How We Develop Your Behaviour Support Plan

Every Behaviour Support Plan we develop is built around the individual participant — not a template. David begins with a detailed functional behaviour assessment, gathering information from the participant, family members, support workers, and other professionals involved in their care.

The assessment identifies what function the behaviour serves for the participant — whether it is communication, sensory regulation, avoidance, or another underlying need. Strategies in the plan address those root causes, rather than simply attempting to suppress the behaviour.

Where restrictive practices are in use or being considered, David manages the required NDIS Commission documentation and ensures all practices are properly authorised, reviewed, and being reduced over time in line with regulatory requirements.
