NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaching in Perth

Strengths-based, NDIS-funded recovery coaching for Perth participants with psychosocial disability — delivered by our experienced local coordinator.

What Is Psychosocial Recovery Coaching?

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching (PRC) is an NDIS-funded support for participants with a psychosocial disability — primarily those living with a mental health condition. It is funded under Capacity Building: Support Coordination in your NDIS plan.

A recovery coach works alongside the participant using a strengths-based, peer-informed approach — focusing on what matters most to the individual: their wellbeing, personal recovery goals, and connection to community. Recovery coaching is not therapy or counselling, and it is not about managing your NDIS plan. It is about supporting you to live the life you want to live.

Important distinction:

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is not the same as therapy, counselling, or clinical psychology. It is not a mental health treatment. It is a practical, goal-oriented support that helps you work toward your recovery in everyday life — and it is delivered by trained coaches, not clinicians.

How Psychosocial Recovery Coaching Works in Perth

Our Perth coordinator delivers PRC alongside support coordination — so participants can access both services in-house, with a single local point of contact. This integrated approach means your recovery coaching and plan coordination are always aligned and working toward the same goals.

In practice, recovery coaching sessions might involve:

  • Identifying your personal recovery goals and the strengths you already have
  • Building daily routines, coping strategies, and social connections
  • Connecting with Perth-based mental health, peer support, and community organisations
  • Planning for setbacks and building resilience for the longer term

Who Is It For?

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is suitable for Perth participants whose NDIS plan includes PRC funding under Capacity Building, and who have a psychosocial disability related to a mental health condition. This includes — but is not limited to — participants living with:

Anxiety
Depression
PTSD
Schizophrenia
Bipolar disorder
Personality disorders

If you are unsure whether PRC is funded in your plan, check your plan document or contact your LAC. We are also happy to help you understand your funding and whether recovery coaching might be right for you.
